Client work · EY and Accordion
The month-end close, with less of it done by hand.
Three years at EY and Accordion, building the reports and automations leadership teams run on. Client names stay private. What I built doesn't have to.
- The problem
- Finance teams were rebuilding the same reports by hand every week and posting routine entries one at a time.
- What I built
- Dashboards that refresh themselves, flows that send the reports out, and an AI workflow that drafts journal entries for review.
- The result
- Weekly and monthly refreshes went from many manual steps to a few clicks.
How I built it
The problem
The work was repeatable. Nobody had made it repeat.
At Accordion I owned the reporting workstream for a client: weekly shipping outlook, plant performance, price variance, work-order efficiency. Senior people read these every week, so they had to be on time and correct.
Each refresh was a chain of manual steps. Each step was small, and together they took up the week.
What I built
Refresh, send, draft, then a person checks.
I automated the weekly and monthly refreshes, and used Power Automate to send the reports and executive summaries to the people who needed them.
For a healthcare client's month-end close, I built an AI-powered workflow that prepares journal entries for an employee to review and posts cash and collections automatically. The person stays in the loop for anything that needs judgement. The routine postings stop needing them.

Why it matters for you
Your business has the same kind of work.
A clinic's appointment report, a café's weekly sales sheet, a creator's monthly numbers: it's the same shape of problem at a smaller size. The same pattern fits. Let the computer do the routine part, and keep a person where the judgement is.
